Installation guide for Linux
Running EMEGS (Qt version) on Linux
The Linux binary is distributed as an AppImage and does not need to be installed. Download the AppImage, make it executable, and then run it. For example, from a terminal in the download directory:
chmod +x qemegs*.AppImage
./qemegs*.AppImage
You can also make the AppImage executable through your file manager’s file properties and then open it normally.
Installing and configuring R
If and only if you wish to run an ANOVA on ERP/ERF-data in R, you need to correctly configure the communication with R. In order to do this, download and install “R” with the RPM or from source (for instance from http://stat.ethz.ch/CRAN/).
To allow EMEGS (Qt version) to communicate with R, you need to install the R-package Rserve and start the Rserve by typing
install.packages(“Rserve”)
library(Rserve)
Rserve()
The R-packages reshape2 and possible others may be needed as well, depending on the kind of ANOVA or plot you are running.
reshape2 can be installed for instance like this:
install.packages(“reshape2”)
