Running statistical tests in “R”

Some statistical tasks (such as running an analysis of variance (ANOVA) or creating a barplot) are performed by calling R software for statistical computing.

The following system requirements must be met for calling R:

1. R must be installed on your system. 
2. Within R, the non-standard packages Rserve, RSvgDevice and reshape2 must be installed.
3. Rserve must be started and listening to the default port (6911).
