Menus

EMEGS (Qt version) has the following menus:

The File menu:

EMEGS workspaces (.ews) store the current working study settings, batch definition, analysis-specific tables and selections, and window layout. Save workspace updates the current workspace; Save workspace as creates a separately named snapshot. Opening a workspace activates its saved study settings without silently overwriting the study folder’s qemegsdef.ini. Saving over an existing workspace first creates a timestamped .backup-* copy in the hidden .qemegsstudy/workspace-backups/ folder within the workspace’s folder. In the Analysis and study settings dialog, Apply/OK changes the current working configuration. Only Save as study defaults writes those settings to qemegsdef.ini for future analyses.

Loaded files are restored only for VIEWAVERAGE workspaces. This permits a completed ERP/ERF analysis workspace to reopen its SCADS datasets together with viewing options, sensor groups, intervals, and statistical designs. Preprocessing workspaces restore their settings but do not reopen raw or derived continuous files, including files that older workspace versions may have recorded. VIEWRESULTS may support dataset restoration in the future; it is not currently included.

If saveable workspace state has changed, EMEGS asks whether to Save, Discard, or Cancel before closing the application, opening another workspace, or clearing/replacing the current workspace. Cancel leaves the current workspace untouched.
